My sister and I decided to walk over to Hero's for dinner and drinks since its very close to her apartment. We were not disappointed! We both ordered Irish Mules and sandwiches. I ordered the "Sir Paul" (I added turkey) and I really liked the hummus with the sunflower wheat bread. My sister got the "Bruce Lee" and it was also very good. The sandwich was very flavorful and had a nice kick from the siracha. The Irish Mules were also very good and were refreshing on a hot day like today. I really liked the vibe of the place. Due to Covid we didn't hang out inside, although there was plenty of room to social distance. Lots of people were hanging out outside and it was nice to get out and socialize. I am a fan of Hero's and I will definitely be back!
Hero's is next to Vinnie's in Peachtree Plaza on Six Forks (behind La Fiesta and Vivo's). So new that it's still in the soft-opening stages. Welcome to North Raleigh, Heros's...we can use a good pub and sandwich shop in this area! You can tell that they have worked hard to get this the way they want it. You can tell they want you to enjoy drinks, a great sandwich and a game or two or three. There's ping pong, pool, video games. Super friendly place! Husband had a Porter he liked and I just did a glass of wine. He had a roast beef sandwich (the Weasley), while I had an Italian one(The Godfather). The chef (who used to work at other more higher end local places) fixed us right up with tasty, quality subs using Boars Head meats and Neomonde bread. Simple but good. Apparently they will be having soups and other menu items coming up as well. Lots of potential here, and a great addition to North Raleigh!
Liked the staff. It was kind of a dingy bar (don't ask for a sangria type shit), their graffiti on their bathrooms make for a good aesthetic feel to it. Good spots go sit at the bar, lounge around, play pool.
